Author Description:
John Steinbeck (1902-1968) was a 20th century American writer, celebrated alike for his fictional and non-fictional works. He wrote a total of 16 novels many of which have now become classic literature. They include Of Mice and Men, The Grapes of Wrath, Tortilla Flat, Cannery Row, The Pearl, East of Eden and The Red Pony. The Great Depression classic The Grapes of Wrath also won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and has sold a whopping 15 million copies. His other works include 2 collections of short stories and 6 non-fiction books. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1962.
