JINNAH, HIS POLITICS AND PAKISTAN

This Book explores the political life of Pakistan’s founder, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, from beginning to end. It shows how his ideas were shaped by liberal values (like freedom, equality) and moderate secularism (keeping religion separate from politics).

The book corrects false claims in many history books. For example:

  • The “Two Nations Theory” (the idea that Hindus and Muslims are separate nations) was first pushed by Hindu nationalists in British India. They wanted a country only for Hindus, free of other religions.

  • Jinnah later used their own argument to demand a fair, inclusive country for all religions, castes, and even atheists. His goal was a state where oppressed groups could rise economically and women could gain rights.

The author argues that today’s Pakistan (an Islamic Republic with religious discrimination) is the opposite of what Jinnah wanted. Instead, Pakistan should become a secular state (though still mostly Muslim) where everyone is equal, no matter their religion, caste, gender, or beliefs.
